秋天有autumn和fall兩種說法
只不過英國人一般把秋天叫作autumn
而美國人常會用另一個說法fall
當然也有部分美國人使用autumn
有的人以為autumn是傳統說法
而fall是現代別稱
其實fall的歷史比autumn還要悠久
fall 的寓意是：秋天樹葉凋零 fall of the leaf
而 autumn 來自法語 automne
雖然在15、16世紀已經進入英語詞匯
但直到18世紀才被普遍使用
